We started this organization because too many people are learning about online scams the hard way. We believe everyone deserves a clear, calm explanation, delivered by patient people in their own community.
It started hitting too close to home…
With over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, Rachel founded Fairly Local Cyber after watching family members and friends become targets of increasingly sophisticated scams. She realized the biggest challenge wasn’t a lack of intelligence, it was a lack of confidence in knowing who and what to trust online.
Rachel believes cybersecurity shouldn’t be confusing or intimidating. Her mission is to help everyday people feel more aware, more confident, and more secure by teaching practical skills they can use immediately.
Every workshop is patient, judgment-free, interactive, and designed for real people — not IT professionals.
OUR MISSION AND VALUES
Stay Aware
We pledge to keep cybersecurity education accessible, local, and easy to understand. By building awareness, we help people recognize threats before they become victims.
Stay Confident
Knowledge builds confidence. We empower individuals with practical skills and real-world guidance so they can spot scams, make informed decisions, and navigate technology with confidence.
Stay Secure
Awareness and confidence lead to action. We promote simple, proven security habits – like using strong passwords, password managers, multi-factor authentication, and family safe words, to help protect what matters most.
A fairly local team with a big purpose.
It’s just me—for now.
Hi, I’m Rachel! Every workshop, presentation, and resource is designed, built, and taught with one goal in mind: helping our community stay one step ahead of scams and online threats.

Founder & CISO
I started Fairly Local Cyber because everyone deserves to understand how to protect themselves online… not just people who work in IT.

U.S.
Air Force Veteran
My time in the U.S. Air Force taught me discipline, leadership, and the importance of protecting others; values that continue to shape every workshop and resource I create.

Wife & Mom
As a wife and mom, I understand that cybersecurity isn’t just about devices, it’s about protecting families, finances, memories, and peace of mind. That’s why I focus on simple, real-world advice anyone can use.
